Note: Here I have repeated my post of June 18, 2018. I am compelled to do this because the U.S. Commander-In-Chief permitted the Turkish military to launch an offensive in Syria on October 9, 2019, to seize territories held by U.S.-backed Kurdish forces. The Kurds are our extraordinary military friends and allies. I believe this sudden reversal of support to a friend and ally is unique, immoral and unacceptable.

According to CENTCOM General Joseph Votel in The Atlantic: “Over four years, the [Kurdish] SDF freed tens of thousands of square miles and millions of people from the grip of ISIS. Throughout the fight, it sustained nearly 11,000 casualties. By comparison, six U.S. service members …have been killed in the anti-ISIS campaign.”
