Bruce is a rock of wisdom and business insight. He sees pattern, where others see chaos; he finds solutions, where others find problems; and he seems to know, intuitively, where the levers are that must be pushed to make things happen.

Bruce has a brilliant business mind and a very rare talent: he enables executives to transform their hidden wisdom into pragmatic insight that yields powerful leadership results. For over thirty years I have seen him transform senior managers into great leaders in a fashion that dramatically enhanced their competence, confidence, and influence. As a practitioner of high performance, Bruce has helped countless complex organizations hardwire leader accountability into their strategic planning process to guarantee sustained results and growth.

Bruce always brings a unique and grounded perspective to every interaction.  However, his real value proposition is identifying the art of the possible and constructing the action plans to get there. He is an exceptional builder of strategy and execution agent. His passion for leadership, sense of partnership and most of all friendship have resulted in measurable improvements in my personal development and that of our team.

I’ve used FritchConsulting for more than 15 years to assist me in my positions at three very different organizations: as Vice President for Regulatory Affairs of the American Forest & Paper Association; as the President and CEO of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers; and most recently, in my role as Group Vice President of Public Policy and Government/Industry Affairs at Toyota Motor North America in Washington D.C.  Bruce’s work for me over the years has included organizational design, strategic planning, the formulation and alignment of vision and mission, a 360-degree analysis of my leadership, and the executive coaching of my senior staff.

Bruce is astute, highly ethical and very insightful. I trust his judgment. He knows my expectations and, I in turn, know that I can fully depend on him. He is particularly skilled and thorough in interviewing leaders and in eliciting information. His reports are candid, yet done in a way that is respectful of all, and he has helped me over the years with some very difficult personnel issues.

Even rarer in a strategist of Bruce’s caliber is his grasp of operations, his political antennae, and his ability to turn his insights and recommendations into very specific steps and tactics that I’ve been able to implement quickly, practically and, most often, very successfully.

We originally hired Bruce Fritch to coach our senior management team at The Pantry as he came highly recommended by the top folks at Deloitte & Touche. That said, Bruce didn’t rest on his reputation. He was very, very thorough in his gathering of information from a variety of sources and people, including directors and members of our management team, who responded most positively to his empathetic, egalitarian approach. Bruce has a rare, human quality: he actually listens to what people say! He then brought his insights and wealth of experience to the information he’d collected, helping us to address some key business matters and work even better as a company and a team.

Dear Mr. Fritch,

You worked with us over a period of about one week to help inspire us with new vision, clarity, and a fresh way of approaching what we had to do. It was one of the most memorable consultant visitations I ever remember.

During your last day with us, I expressed some anxiety about being the youngest member of the team, confiding that I probably had a lot to learn. At which point you stunned me by saying, with absolute
sincerity, maybe you have a lot to teach. It hit like a bullet, and boosted my sense of self-worth at a time I really needed it.

Thank you, then, for the insight, and for suggesting I really could take my self-confidence to audacious new heights.

Best Regards,

Our mission was to take 8 inner city Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Washington, DC, and revitalize them, turning them into high-performing ones. This meant bringing together the principals and staff of each school into one cohesive team, overcoming their natural resistance to change, and working with them in ways some of them had never worked before.

Bruce Fritch helped bring this about with a skill and agility that was extraordinary. He held in-depth interviews with each of the school principals, helping them to see the coming change as a promise rather than a penalty, and with enormous deftness and sensitivity, assisted us in creating a high-functioning team of educators who soon accomplished this tremendous goal. The result: the average test scores for the students in the 8 revitalized schools rose from the 35th percentile to the 65th – the kind of leap that most educators only dream about – and that made the Center City Consortium a national model of educational reform.

Bruce grounds his planning and coaching in organizational effectiveness. He brings a real world, practical and honest approach to addressing business challenges, while never losing sight of the goal. He’s
encouraging while not being patronizing. He helped us focus clearly on positive goals, while identifying a systematic approach to our challenges as an organization.
